The words fell from her lips
as my mind slid out of focus
a numbing buzz filling my ears

not that it mattered
I knew the words I wasn't hearing
repeated a hundred times before
different places
different faces
same idea

As my memory instinctively dismantled
recollections of the figure before me
I watched as the self-serving words
dribbled from her mouth
and unable to find their way into my attention
fell, and pooled uselessly at her feet

Update

I just wanted to apologize for going pretty much AWOL for the last few weeks. I've been in a wierd place mentally and I hope you'll forgive my absence. I'll be emptying my inbox ASAP so I hope to get back to everybody soon.


    The deadline for the mythical creatures contset is fast approaching! Get those entries in folks!

CONTEST INFO!

So, I'm hosting another contest, and the theme is mythical creatures!

Here are the rules:

:bulletred: Contest runs from Nov. 1st until noon on Dec. 1st
:bulletred: All visual media is allowed (sorry no lit.)
:bulletred: All entries must be new for the contest (submitted ON or AFTER Nov. 1st)
:bulletred: Each contestant may enter up to 3 pieces, but they are only allowed to win once
:bulletred: Pieces will be jusdged based on originality, technique, and compostion.
:bulletred: Pieces must FEATURE one or more mythical creatures of the contestant's choice (dragons, unicorns, etc.) Bonus points are given more multiple creatures

JUDGING: The contest will be judged via scoresheets (Piece with the most points is the winner) Ties will be decided by a vote. Judges are =Jack-La, *Seraphi91, *Sophizzlie, and =AndreaRN5278.

ENTERING: To enter, send a note to =Jack-La with a link to your entry. Changes to submitted pieces ARE allowed, whether it be an edit, or a completely new deviation. However, all chages must be made BEFORE noon on Dec. 1st. Entries will be added to a collection and featured here.
Also, extensions MAY be given if you have good reason. Extension reqests and any questions should be submitted to =Jack-La
